Working week – Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. Shifts are to be confirmed, term time only

A fantastic opportunity as arisen to join the team at Wath Academy as a teaching assistant. The teaching assistant will carry out various duties throughout the working week and will support exceptional learning experiences that will enable young people thrive.
What will the apprentice be doing?
Main Weekly duties will be:
- Setting up the classroom ready for lessons & clearing away afterwards to maintain a safe & clean environment
- Assisting teachers in preparing the lesson, materials & school equipment
- Recording & reporting a pupil’s progress to the teacher
- Helping pupils stay focused during class hours
- Supervising group activities & outings
- Helping teachers manage student behaviour
- Looking after students who are unwell or upset
- Providing a healthy & safe learning environment for students

Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship –
The apprentice will complete the following training:

- Qualification gained will be Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship
- Functional Skills (if required)
- All learning will take place on site in the workplace

- How pupils learn & develop
- How to use technology to support learning & own role
- How to work with teachers to support assessments
- Knowledge of curriculum
- How to keep children safe in education, safeguarding & health and safety
- How to develop strategies to support & encourage pupils to move towards independent learning

An exciting opportunity for an Apprentice to join the team at Maltby Academy Based in the heart of the community in Maltby, we are looking to appoint a talented professional to work closely across Key Stage 3 & 4 with students who may have specific learning needs or social, emotional, and mental health and/or engagement individual needs.
What will the apprentice be doing?
Main Weekly duties will be:
- Establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model & responding to individual needs
- Work with teacher to establish appropriate learning environment
- Support students whilst recognising individual needs
- Support the movement of students with disabilities around school
- Help teachers to supervise & support students ensuring, safety & access to learning
- Support teachers managing student behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate
- Undertake duties & requests in line with the post
